LIANNE LA HAVAS – Is Your Love Big Enough
Out CD/Vinyl 9 July 2012
Preview!
22 year old Londoner Lianne possesses one of those stunning, timeless voices that you don’t hear very often. Her effortlessly beautiful performance on Later last year was a great introduction (best thing I’ve seen on Later all series). She has the poise and delivery to match an enviable list of legendary soul singers, allied with her assured finger-picking (refreshingly on an electric guitar) that underpins wonderful song-writing.
Her first two EP releases display a versatility from the gentle defiance of Lost & Found, the soul-funk blast of Forget to the subtle magic No Room For Doubt, which features guest (and fellow Summer Sundae performer) Willy Mason. All this bodes very well for Lianne’s debut album Is Your Love Big Enough? due out this summer on 9 July.
Lianne has recently played BBC 6Music’s10 year anniversary celebrations, been working with Prince (who contacted her after watching a free concert she streamed on her website) and has been touring with the likes of Bon Iver and Bombay Bicycle Club. There’s also a great free EP Live in LA available from her website. Can’t Wait!
